Torrevieja
With reputedly the most desirable climate in the World, the Costa Blanca region is on the East coast of Spain. Stretching from South of Valencia to Cartagena. Torrevieja has more to offer as it has an old seafaring tradition, an exceptional climate, superb beaches and a very up todate infrastructure. The area embraces all that is typically Spanish. The town of Torrevieja lies 45 kms south of Alicante. The pyramids of white salt and the long promenade with its amazing sea front market are two of the main memories that remain with visitors. Not forgetting the weekly large Friday market.

It is an ideal place for family holidays. Salt Lakes at Torre Torrevieja is surrounded by two large and beautiful natural salt water lakes which form the "Salinas de Torrevieja" and are an official Spanish nature reserve. These lakes often appear pink in the sunshine and attract a wide variety of bird life, including flamingoes.

Torrevieja is a developing tourist centre and one of the most important on the Mediterranean coast. However, you'll find it is not nearly as commercialised as the Costa Blanca resorts to the north of Alicante. It still retains that special "Spanish" feel and is very relaxing and welcoming.

Fiestas

For a whole week, Torrevieja sways to the rhythm of the habanera, with its tropical flavour from Cuba.

In addition, each town has a public holiday for its own patron saint.

Shopping
A very good place for shopping in Torrevieja is the Habaneras shopping centre. Habeneras Shopping Centre It opened in March 2005 and has beautiful shops to suit everyone. ZARA, MANGO, H&M, ETAM to name but a few. If you need a break from shopping, take heart because the top level open-air bar/cafe area offers a great place to sit with a drink in your hand admiring the views of the distant mountains. There is also a small kiddies play area. A trip to Alicante is always good for shopping with more selection and the infamous El Corte Ingles department store (The "Harrods" of Spain).
